Contact the Ledger
Write to the Greenock Ledger news desk: story tips, corrections, questions about coverage and requests about local business documents.
The Ledger reads everything sent to it. Story tips, corrections, questions about coverage and requests about this domain's history all reach the desk at contact@greenockchamber.co.uk, the journal's public address.
What to send
The useful press release is one page, factual and numerate: what happened, when, where in Inverclyde, who can answer a question about it, and any number that supports the story, jobs, years trading, investment, growth. Appointments, anniversaries, openings, closures handled properly, funding wins, expansions, exports and odd numbers from the accounts all count as news in this journal's line of work.
Corrections
The journal prints its errors. If a figure, a date or a name is wrong, write with the source that shows it and the piece will be corrected in the text, dated. Corrections reach the same address as everything else.
What the desk does not do
The desk does not sell coverage, links or placements, and does not accept them. It cannot forward membership enquiries to the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce, which publishes at inverclydechamber.co.uk, and it cannot answer questions about the chamber's events or services. For the journal's own shape and standards, read the about page.
Response
The desk is small and reads in batches; a reply may take some days. Everything that arrives is read, and the useful share of it becomes coverage at the news index.
